Appointment of new Chair and Vice-Chair of CIRA’s board of directors

OTTAWA, ON – November 26, 2021 – The Canadian Internet Registration Authority (CIRA) Board of Directors is pleased to announce Jill Kowalchuk’s appointment as Chair for a two-year term and Andrew Escobar as Vice-Chair for a one-year term.

CIRA’s board of directors is comprised of 12 elected members, plus CIRA’s president and CEO, a representative of the Government of Canada and .CA pioneer John Demco, who sit on the board as non-voting advisors. The board of directors sets the policies and strategies that support Canada’s Internet. Members of the CIRA Board of Directors participate in regular board meetings and committees to develop the policies that govern the Canadian Internet domain and involvement in the international bodies that regulate the internet.
