Why you should apply!

Being a CIRA board member is one of the ultimate ways you can contribute to the development of Canada’s internet!

When joining through the nomination committee slate you’re applying to be reviewed and selected by a committee whose role is to ensure balanced representation on the election ballot.

This year, we’re looking for candidates with skills and experience in the following areas:

Deep financial acumen as a certified practitioner with advanced literacy in finance, audit, investment, and risk oversight.

Entrepreneurial experience in the technology sector, including go-to-market strategies and experience working in strategic partnerships/subsidiaries. 

Experience in the domain name industry in which CIRA operates, and knowledge of key components of cybersecurity related to risk and threat management.

  • Promote teamwork and help build agreement.
  • Ask relevant questions and express opinions based on solid reasoning.
  • Recognize strategic risks and opportunities that could affect CIRA and suggest sustainable solutions.
  • Show leadership with a creative and innovative approach to solving problems.
  • Value diverse perspectives and experiences, fostering openness and continuous improvement.

Positions on CIRA’s board are not considered entry-level. It is imperative that all board members have a solid understanding of the duties and responsibilities of directors and board governance in the not-for-profit and/or the for-profit sectors
