What being a board member means.
The best candidates have the right skills to help CIRA advance its mission and take its work to the next level. They are professionals and understand, above all else, that the role of the CIRA board of directors is to represent the corporation.
What you need to know before applying:
Find out if you're eligible to be a director
To be eligible to become a board director, an individual must:
- Consent to be a nominee, a candidate and, if elected, a board director
- Be eighteen (18) years of age or older
- Be Canadian citizen ordinarily resident in Canada, or a permanent resident
- Agree in writing to abide by all rules, regulations and policies of the Corporation
Vacant seats available this year.
We’re looking to fill:
- Three seats from the nomination committee slate
- One seat from the member slate
Each slate has a different application process, deadlines, and requirements.
Individuals applying through the nomination committee slate are not required to be a CIRA member. CIRA members who apply and do not successfully become a candidate on the nomination committee slate can also apply to join through the member slate. Candidates cannot appear on both slates.
About the board
CIRA is governed by a board of 12 elected directors and three board advisors who help advance CIRA’s development. They provide strategic direction and oversight to help more Canadians get online with a .CA domain, reinvest in the development of a trusted internet for Canadians, strengthen our non-.CA product offerings and be a leading-edge, inclusive workplace that attracts and maintains top talent.
We’re looking for people who share this vision to fill a few vacant seats on the board.
