THE PROJECT

The needs of Canadians with disabilities who have challenges accessing and using the internet are not commonly considered by web developers. The Mohawk College Accessible Media Production program and CMS Web Solutions are experienced in teaching people how to audit websites for accessibility to ensure they are creating accessible web content. Students from the Mohawk College Accessible Media Program developed online training modules teaching the fundamentals of web accessibility and creating a better online experience for Canadians with disabilities.

COMMUNITY IMPACT

By teaching early career web design students the importance of accessibility, this project can have lasting benefits by ensuring Canadians with disabilities are taken into consideration in their design work going forward.
