THE PROJECT
Youtheatre is Quebec’s oldest theatre for young audiences, with the goal of engaging youth through compelling theatre that provokes, questions, challenges and entertains. Youtheatre’s renowned secondary school show, Pandora, centres on a curious teenage girl who goes online to learn more about sex and becomes consumed by pornography which distorts her real-world relationships. With CIRA funding, Youtheatre produced a virtual adaptation of Pandora.
COMMUNITY IMPACT
The virtual adaption allowed the production to greatly increase its reach to tens of thousands of students across Canada. The virtual show was recognized at film festivals both nationally and abroad, helping destigmatize the topic and encouraging teens to think critically and make better informed choices around intimacy.
