THE PROJECT
Gluu Society, an organization dedicated to helping older adults use technology to stay happy, healthy, and connected, established the Digital Coaches Network to empower older Canadians to become engaged digital citizens. Coaches at partner organizations such as seniors’ residences and senior centres across Vancouver delivered community-based digital skills training with a curriculum and materials designed for the unique needs of over 1000 older learners.
COMMUNITY IMPACT
96% of these seniors affirmed the boost in their confidence around basic digital skills, enabling them to use the internet for accessing the news, entertainment and connecting with loved ones – ensuring that these seniors are not left behind in an increasingly digital world.
