THE PROJECT

Concordia Institute for Information Systems Engineering (CIISE) produced a research report on the nature and extent of increasingly sophisticated phishing, malware, and social engineering techniques. The report identified limitations in common approaches to detecting cloaked malicious sites and proposed recommendations for scalable, effective early cloaking detection.

COMMUNITY IMPACT

The study will benefit internet users as they gain an insight into fraudulent activities launched by phishing and other malicious means, making the internet safer for Canadians. In the first six months after the project, the research was picked up and published in an academic journal.
