THE PROJECT

Like many remote and rural communities in Canada, residents of La Grand’Terre/Mainland and Trois Cailloux/Three Rock Cove could not access high speed internet due to challenges with infrastructure. This gap in connectivity meant residents lacked the ability to apply for jobs, work, study online, or access online services, resulting in decreased economic opportunity and residents leaving the area. This project successfully installed a 4G LTE tower providing the community with cell service and high-speed internet, giving approximately 600 members of the community online access.

COMMUNITY IMPACT

The new infrastructure allows residents, students, job seekers, entrepreneurs, and new Canadians to reach educational and career goals without leaving their community, helping to maintain and preserve their unique Francophone culture.
