THE PROJECT
The Institut national de la recherche scientifique is dedicated to graduate level research and training, bringing together professors, postdoctoral researchers and graduate students in four research and training centres in Quebec. The goal of their project was to study disruptive and emerging technologies and explore the associated political, economic, social, cultural and ethical issues, including the impact of AI, Big Data, the Internet of Things and Blockchain.
COMMUNITY IMPACT
Researchers studied and reported on citizens and stakeholders in “smart cities” (Montreal, Toronto and Vancouver) and their perceptions and expectations in terms of disruptive technology regulation.
