Candidate Statement
LEON “LEE” MORRIS
Lee was born in the United States and moved to Canada at the age of 10. He is a Mi’kmaq and grew up on the Sipekne’katik First Nations in Nova Scotia. He graduated from Dalhousie University and has over 30 years’ experience in the Information Technology Industry. With 20 of those years teaching for various Universities, Community Colleges, Private Career Institutions and First Nations Community Organizations.
CIRA is responsible for assigning and maintaining the official record of all .ca domains. Ensures the digital sovereignty of Canada’s contributions to the internet and protects Canadian Businesses and people online presence safe with secure DNS services and educates all on the dangers of the internet.
As an Indigenous, Canadian Business owner and IT Instructor, I feel it is important to ensure that CIRA has indigenous representation on its board, committees and to ensure that CIRA includes culturally relevant materials to Indigenous peoples.
