On December 4, CIRA participated in the Globe and Mail virtual event, Protecting Canadian Public Institutions: Navigating a complex threat environment.
Canadian municipalities, universities, school boards and hospitals—the MUSH sector—are a prime target for cyber criminals. They store highly sensitive information, have unique technological needs and face constrained resources to adequately protect themselves. In response, the Globe and Mail assembled a panel of experts to shine a light on unique challenges these institutions face

The panelists discussed why MUSH sector organizations are vulnerable to cyber attacks, the benefits of partnership and collaboration to improve cybersecurity posture, cybersecurity awareness training and behaviour change, and pending regulatory changes.
